PPA Concludes 38th Annual Convention
The Philippine Psychiatric Association recently concluded its 38th Annual Convention themed Psychiatric Therapeutics: State of the Art at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City.

The scientific program was highlighted by lectures on practice recommendations for the common psychiatric illnesses with the most significant economic burden, such as, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, and suicide.

Noteworthy were updates on the PPA’s vision to to participating in shaping the state of mental health care delivery in the country for the next five years, as well as a status report on the status of the mental health bill in congress.

Inducted as the new officers are the following:
Dr. Romy Enriquez as President,
Dr. Japhet Fernandez-de Leon,
Dr. Amadeo Alinea as Secretary,
Dr. Michelene Buot as Treasurer,
Dr. Roderico Ramos as Auditor, and
Dr. Ma. Bernadette Arcena as the PRO.
The new directors are as follows:
For Luzon: Dr. Ma. Angelli Morico
For Visayas: Dr. Mae Linda de Luzuriaga
For Mindanao: Dr. Rosemina Quirapas
